The BMC library has over 4000 books, manuscripts, ship and boat plans and periodicals focusing upon maritime history, marine technology, and recreational boating. While there are a few novels of the classic Sea Yarn variety, such as the Master and Commander series, the majority of works can provide a researcher with answers about boatbuilding, model-making, yachting, sailing, and a great variety of related maritime subjects. The library is cataloged to Library of Congress standards and has comfortable chairs in the rare book section.
